From where this myth started to CBD’s actual effects on weight, we’re covering it here. That way, you know all of the correct information surrounding your new favorite cannabinoid. Let’s get started with some basics.
“Full-spectrum” means that the extract contains full plant values, from the cannabinoids to terpenes and everything in between. Full-spectrum extracts do contain legal amounts of THC (0.3% or less), so you have to be okay with consuming a bit of this cannabinoid with these types of products. But, don’t worry! They still won’t get you high: amounts like that are too low for high effects of CBD.
Defining CBD vs. THC
Before we talk about CBD’s relationship with gain weight, we need to discuss what CBD is and some other common cannabis terminologies. First, what is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, and its a primary compound abundantly found within the cannabis plant family— both marijuana and hemp. However, when we talk about CBD here, we’re referring to hemp-derived CBD, as this is what we use here at Palm Organix. Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in the US, just as long as it does not contain any more than 0.3% THC. (But, Palm Organix is THC-free.) CBD is utilized for various reasons, but it is highly sought after for its therapeutic value.
Finally, you might also come across something called CBD isolates when shopping for your CBD products. CBD isolates are essentially pure CBD. They do not contain any other cannabinoids or terpenes, isolating the cannabidiol entirely. For those wholly interested in CBD’s effects, products like these can be ideal. However, they do not celebrate the plant’s synergistic properties, so the benefits may not be as prevalent as with broad or full-spectrum extracts. But, as always, the choice is yours!
CBD oil is a new medicine in Australia that is being used to treat a wide variety of medical conditions, but can it increase your appetite? The common question asked from patients is, “does CBD oil make you gain weight?”
Three main types of CBD oil can increase your appetite and make you gain weight:
CBD oil can increase your appetite and in doing so, also makes you gain weight. Medical studies have shown that patients taking CBD oil increased their appetite and weight gain by two times. Clinical studies have also shown that CBD increased the appetite and weight gain in children.
For patients looking to increase their appetite, gain weight, or avoid these two effects, we will need to discuss how CBD oil will suit your medical needs.
CBD oil effectively increases the appetite in adults and children through its ability to affect your endocannabinoid system. Your endocannabinoid system helps control your appetite, mood, sleep, and much more.
