Looking for a high-quality CBD oil and treats for your pup that won’t break your bank account? cbdMD’s oils are among the most affordable you can find. cbdMD is a well-respected company that produces broad-spectrum CBD products for humans and pets (including dogs, cats, and horses).
Some dog owners report it also can help treat seizures, but scientific studies are still underway to confirm this benefit. We recommend talking to your vet before starting treatment for this or any other of the claimed benefits to make sure CBD is safe for your pup.
Their CBD oils include CBD suspended in MCT oil (derived from coconuts) with no added preservatives. They also offer dog and cat CBD treats, soft chews, peanut butter, hip and joint chews, and a CBD topical balm.

Green Roads is among the most reputable U.S. manufacturers of CBD oil for humans, and they’ve branched out to offer high-quality pet CBD oils at an attractive price point. Unfortunately (at least for now), they don’t carry treats or other CBD pet products. There are also limited product reviews since the pet oils are so new to the market.
MediPets, the pet care arm of Diamond CBD, is a top U.S. manufacturer of pure full-spectrum CBD oils, treats, and sprays for both dogs and cats. If you prefer treats to oils, MediPets sells more than a dozen types of dog treats and even cat treats.
So why isn’t MediPets in our top three? MediPets has had a lot of turnover in the company and is constantly changing its team and marketing. Why is it important to learn the two cannabinoid receptors? Well, as we have already mentioned, cannabidiol or CBD exerts its effects primarily by interacting with these receptors. As such, you can say that learning the activities of these receptors can also pave the way towards greater understanding of the action of CBD.

There are also CBD sprays that can be sprayed directly into your pet’s mouth or even sprayed onto their dog food.
Ella, a 10-year-old Saint Bernard, doesn’t like loud noises. At the first rumble of thunder or pop of fireworks, the dog starts panting and pacing, says Jeffrey Powers, D.V.M., Ella’s owner and a veterinarian who practices in northern Michigan. “The minute fireworks go off, she’s running to hide,” he says.
If you live in a state that has legalized CBD, there’s nothing to stop you from giving it to your pet on your own. But experts say it’s a good idea to talk with your vet first. And while veterinarians can’t bring it up themselves, they can certainly answer questions you have in an effort to reduce any potential harm to your pet, Andre says.

Until more is known, the experts urge caution. “Numbers are really useful, but cannabis is a very individualized medicine,” Andre says. She advises that pet parents “start low and go slow” when figuring out a dosage. She also suggests that using tinctures rather than a chew treat can make it easier to scale dosages up or down.
But McGrath is still cautious about touting CBD’s promise until larger studies are done. “I feel really comfortable at this point, given all of our clinical trials and our initial research, that it’s a safe product,” she says. “But the jury’s still out on whether I’m totally convinced about its effectiveness.”
Because cannabis, especially for pets, is largely unregulated, it can be difficult to know which CBD products have been formulated responsibly, are free from contaminants, and contain the ingredients that the product labels list.
